Lakeside Miniature Railway

Esplanade, Southport PR8 1RX

Have you got a passion for trains? Did you know King’s Gardens is also home to the Lakeside Miniature Railway? Linking visitors from the gardens, to Pleasureland and Ocean Plaza.

The first steam train “King George V” ran 27th May 1911 at 3pm.

The track was sold to Harry Barlow in 1945 when it was renamed “Lakeside Miniature Railway”. The first petrol driven trains ran from this time.

Lakeside Miniature Railway was sold to John Spencer in 1968 then in 2001 to Don Clark and Graham Leeming.

In 2016 Norman Wallis purchased the railway and began its refurbishment.   For more information visit Southport Pleasureland
